Kiso Valley by rail
Station towns, cedar forests and a slower route through central Japan.
The article is ready. Making it listenable should not require another production line.
Recorded narration usually means exporting copy, coordinating a voice, editing audio, uploading a file and matching the right recording to the right article.
Then the article changes. A corrected paragraph or updated figure makes the recording an older version of the story. The team has to repeat the process, leave mismatched audio in place or remove it.
That separate workflow is why many articles remain available in only one format—even when a reader would rather listen while commuting, exercising or moving through the rest of their day.
Publishers need a way to turn the article they already publish into audio, keep it connected to the written story and present it as part of the publication.
That is why we built Audio Narration in Publi.
One published story, ready to read or listen to
Audio Narration gives publication teams a direct path from a written article to an AI-narrated listening experience.
Choose a voice for the publication, add the Text-to-speech player to an article and publish. Publi generates narration from the article and places it in a responsive player inside the reading experience. When the story changes, republish it and Publi creates updated narration from the latest version.
The player can match the publication, be adjusted for an individual article and be measured through the same analytics workspace as the rest of the content.
Built for the way readers fit publishing into their lives
A member may listen to an association article between meetings. A customer may catch up with a company publication during a commute. Another reader may simply prefer listening to a story rather than reading it on screen.
Audio Narration gives those readers a choice without asking the editorial team to make a podcast version of every article. The written story remains the source. The publication keeps control of the voice, presentation and experience around it.
Voice, player and results—kept in one workflow
Choose the publication voice, shape the listening experience and see how readers use it.
Give the publication a voice
Enable narration in publication settings and choose from the available Standard and HD voices. Each voice can be previewed before selection, and the chosen voice becomes the publication default so narrated articles sound consistent.
Make the player belong to the publication
Design Studio controls the publication default. Choose a card, bar or filled treatment; set its size, alignment and maximum width; and use an accent from the publication palette.
Spacing, background, border and corner controls help the player sit naturally inside the article. Editors can make a local adjustment when one story needs it while the default keeps the broader experience consistent.
The player responds to the space available on desktop and mobile. Readers can play or pause, move through the story and change playback speed without leaving the article.
See how readers are listening
Audio analytics report plays and completion rate and show which articles are listened to most.
The results sit beside the publication's existing analytics. Teams can understand whether readers are using the listening experience without introducing another reporting tool or disconnecting audio performance from the publication around it.
Listening stays connected to publishing
Audio should not mean maintaining a second edition of the article. It should be another expression of the same published story.
Audio Narration keeps the words, publication voice, player and results connected in Publi. Editors can offer listening without adding a recording workflow. Designers can make the player feel native to the publication. Readers can choose the format that fits the moment.
Audio Narration currently supports US English voices and is available to eligible Publi customers. Monthly narration limits may apply.
Give the article another way to travel.
Turn written stories into on-brand listening experiences without separating audio from the publishing workflow that keeps them current.
